Ekaterina De Gryse

 

 

Born in Moscow, Ekaterina De Gryse spent her early life surrounded by the vibrant contrasts and cultural richness of Russia. Creativity was always her quiet companion — from childhood experiments with color to her formal studies in 3D modelling and animation. Although her first career path followed a more practical trajectory, the pull of artistic expression never faded. In 2017, Ekaterina relocated to Belgium, a move that opened a new chapter both personally and artistically. 

 

 
 

 

 
 

 

Settling in Bruges, she rediscovered the time and space to nurture her passion for painting, eventually joining the Academie Brugge DKO in 2019, where she continues her studies in pictorial art. Her work is rooted in the poetry of everyday life — fleeting moments, unexpected harmonies of color, the soft rhythms of nature, and the rich dialogues between classical and contemporary art. Each piece is an intimate reflection of the world as she encounters it: subtle, honest, and deeply observant. In May 2024, Ekaterina presented her first exhibition in Bruges, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey. Today, she continues to develop her visual language, weaving emotion, memory, and color into her evolving body of work.
