Soul Search
This painting began years ago and lived with me quietly before it was finished. It was not created in a single emotional impulse but returned to over time — each layer added from a slightly different state of mind.
The composition holds a dense, atmospheric space built through textured oil layers. Muted violets, deep greens and smoky blues create a suspended landscape — not a literal place, but an interior terrain. In the center, a small emergence of light interrupts the darkness. It is subtle, but intentional. Not dramatic. Just present.
For me, this work is about the process of searching without needing immediate clarity. It reflects how perception shifts over time — how what once felt unresolved can later find its balance.
The texture plays an essential role: scratched surfaces, built layers, areas of opacity and transparency suggest movement beneath stillness. The painting does not offer a defined narrative; instead, it invites quiet contemplation.
"Soul Search" is not about answers. It is about staying with the question long enough for something honest to surface.
