Art has been a part of my being since I was born. I have always loved beautiful artwork and took pleasure in exploring its colors and textures. As a kid, and through my school days, I drew all the time, mostly trying to capture things that surround me, but I as I grew older, I was getting more occupied with other things and it slowly faded away. Painting helps me to express my feelings and to transfer myself into another, more beautiful world. I find inspiration walking and wandering around and observing nature – all its inexhaustible beauty and peculiarity, its wonderful and various colors, shapes, shadows.

Even though his interest in art and his need to create lasted from an early age, his decision to graduate from the Academy of Arts came much later. His love for art began withdrawing, mainly the human figure and figurative art in general which he studied for a long time then. Later, having been influenced by underground culture, he started to do graffiti on the streets of Belgrade, because he was intrigued by the idea that street art was considered unacceptable at the time, as well as being risky. |

My name is Jelena Milovanovic. I was born in 1975 in Belgrade, Serbia, where I graduated painting at the Art Academy in 1999. From 2000 to 2004, after the war in my country, I lived and worked in Brussels, Belgium where I coordinated art courses for children and adults at the non-profit social Institution. The main focus of my art is Spiritual Consciousness. One can find it by returning to Nature, by returning to the Inner life because nature is a visible materialization of the Divine Energies.

I have been drawing and painting since my childhood, and later developed that passion through my formal education. On my paintings I try to capture spirit of time, like material evidence and the rough sketch of accelerated changes that are going on in modern society. Process is evolving as I move from one subject to another, always trying to keep strong bond between color and the drawing. |
